THE SUCCESS OF THE ELECTRICAL SECTOR HAS A POSITIVE IMPACT ON ECONOMIC GROWTH. THIS ACHIEVEMENT IS CLOSELY LINKED TO THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF INDUSTRY PLAYERS AND REGULATORS. SO, WHAT ARE THE STRATEGIES AND VISION OF PT NURINDA, AN ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER, IN DRIVING THE ADVANCEMENT OF INDONESIA'S ELECTRICAL SECTOR? -CANDRA WISESA
Suwardi Setiawan, President Director of PT Nurinda, emphasized that the electricity and energy sectors are among the most fundamental infrastructures supporting economic activities throughout Indonesia.
"Both the manufacturing and service industries rely heavily on a dependable electricity supply. In the manufacturing sector, for example, a stable power supply is essential to producing high-quality products," Suwardi stated.
He further explained that the success of the electrical sector would positively influence economic development, particularly in industrial regions. Therefore, PT Nurinda continues to focus on improving the reliability and quality of its electrical products, with the goal of contributing to a more stable and dependable electricity supply across the national power grid.
Meeting Market Demands
According to Suwardi, PT Nurinda plans to introduce a range of innovative products that address the evolving needs of modern electrical systems, including **Medium-Voltage (MV) Jointing, MV Terminating, Air-Insulated MV Switchgear, and Portable Energy Systems**. Several of these products are already ready for commercialization.
"We aim to increase the domestic content of our products to create a positive impact on Indonesia's manufacturing industry," he explained.
PT Nurinda also plays an active role in supporting Indonesia's energy transition. One of the company's key priorities is developing Solar Power Plants (PLTS) across various regions of the country.
"We have obtained the necessary permits for these projects, and several have already been successfully completed," Suwardi stated.
In solar power projects, PT Nurinda operates as an **Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor**, providing comprehensive solutions covering system design, equipment procurement, and installation.
The company also manufactures supporting renewable energy equipment, including solar inverters, portable battery systems, and mounting systems, further strengthening its capabilities in delivering integrated solar energy solutions.
Suwardi also highlighted challenges surrounding the existing regulations for calculating the Domestic Component Level (TKDN). According to him, the regulations lack sufficient clarity in distinguishing products genuinely manufactured domestically from products that merely incorporate locally sourced components.
As a result, imported products can sometimes qualify for TKDN certification despite not undergoing actual manufacturing processes in Indonesia.
"Together with the Indonesian Electrical Equipment Manufacturers Association (APPI), we continue to engage in discussions with relevant government institutions, including the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Trade, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, to identify solutions to these challenges," Suwardi explained.
PT Nurinda has also received significant recognition for its contributions to Indonesia's electrical industry.
Suwardi Setiawan received the **Listrik Indonesia Honorary Award** in the **Electrical Equipment Manufacturer/Supplier** category, recognizing PT Nurinda's role and achievements as an electrical panel manufacturer.
The award was presented by **Dr. Ir. Santoso Januwarsono**, a member of the Expert Council of MLI, during a ceremony held at Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta.
